Federal Member for Gwydir, John Anderson, today
announced that Mudgee Brewing Company will receive
$97,170 under the Australian Tourism Development
Program. Mudgee Brewing Company is expanding from
wholesaling boutique beers (in kegs and bottles) to
include a cafe/restaurant and bar/tasting facilities
onsite. The grant will be used to complete Stage 2 of
the business plan to fit out the cafe/restaurant and
bar, and for construction of the kitchen and office
facilities and renovation of the building façade. "I
congratulate Mudgee Brewing Company Ltd for securing
this funding. It is a tribute to their hard work and
will bring considerable benefits to our local area," Mr
Anderson said. "This funding is part of the Australian
Government's commitment to keeping our economy strong.
By attracting more tourists to our local area, we can
help boost the local economy by creating extra jobs and
providing more opportunities for small business.
"Tourism is an $81 billion industry, employing half a
million Australians and creating thousands more jobs.
About 48c of every tourism dollar is spent in regional
Australia and this can only boost growth in our
region." The Australian Tourism Development Program
provides support for innovative and regional tourism
projects. For further information on the Australian
